NEAR-TERM ACTIVITIES

  • Certification - Link with partners (the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation) on tools to assess, refine, and improve standards of competence of PM&R physicians

  • Evaluation - Support the Foundation Advisory Committees (such as the Program Director's Advisory Committee) in their efforts to carry out the key functions relating to educational aspects of PM&R at the training-program level.

Toward these ends, the activities of the ABPMR Foundation comprise an intellectual agenda to foster learning, analysis, research and development, and a communications agenda to improve the exchange of ideas and information about quality issues. Likewise, the ABPMR Foundation provides a forum to explore issues related to the international practice of PM&R and its subspecialties.
